The Rotary Club of Rutland’s 5th Annual Build Better Friendships Pickleball Tournament Pickleball is continuing to explode in popularity and is being embraced by our schools, fitness centers, gymnasiums, community parks, and senior centers alike. It continues to be the fastest-growing sport in America. No matter the level of play, beginner or experienced player, pickleball boasts the health and well-being of everyone through exercise and social interaction.
The Rotary Club of Rutland will host the Fifth Annual Build Better Friendships Pickleball Tournament (BBFPT) at Vermont Sport & Fitness on Saturday, September 12th, and Sunday, September 13th, 2026. The tournament features non-sanctioned competitive play in the round-robin format. In addition to the tournament, there will be a Pickleball Learning Clinic at Rutland Racquet Club on Saturday. The last four years, we have taught over 100 “newbies” the game with Denise and Jim Bellew, two of our area’s top pickleball facilitators. A host of accomplished support people will be on board making this a great opportunity to learn the sport the right way, with safety always in mind.
